Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The send file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF or WordPerfect format.
  • Additionally I send the archives of the tables and graphs.

    Tables must be submitted without formatting. In the case of graphs and figures, the colors used should be gray tones and contrasting marks on lines and / or bars. The number of the chart or graph will be in bold and the title and subtitles in italics. Both the chart or graphic number as well as its title will be placed above without margins and with a margin of 1.5cm, between them.
  • The submission is unpublished and is not being nominated for simultaneous publication in other magazines or editorial bodies. It has not been previously published nor has it been submitted for consideration by any other magazine for which I send a letter addressed to the Editorial Committee declaring it.
  • This article contains a cover that includes the following data:

    a) Name of the author (s).

    b) Affiliation institution and country.

    c) Electronic email.

    d) ORCID number.

    e) Summary in Spanish and English maximum of 250 words with the following structure: objective, methodology, results, limitations, originality and conclusions

    f) Cinco palabras clave en ambos idiomas. Five keywords in both languages.

    g) JEL classification.
  • Articles sent to the Journal of Economics must be written in Spanish and refer to economic issues. Articles in other languages, preferably English, are accepted.
  • Whenever possible, DOIs are provided for references.

Author Guidelines

1. Articles sent to the Journal of Economics must be written in Spanish and refer to economic issues. Articles in other languages, preferably English, are accepted

2. The length of the articles will be 25 to 30 pages (includes tables and graphs) and should have the following characteristics:

  • Page margins: upper and lower 3cm and right and left 2.5cm. 
  • Typography: Calibri (includes tables and graphs), 12 general points (text, sections, subsections, etc.), 11 points points, graphs and bibliography, 10 points footnotes in text, tables and graphs.
  • Numbering: the articles must be numbered in the lower part of the center, in Calibri 10 points.
  • Paragraphs: except the one that follows a title, the rest should have a 1.25cm indentation. Paragraphs should have a simple line spacing, be justified and without leaving blank lines between them, only when a new section follows.
  • Sections and subsections: each section must be numbered with Arabic numerals, bold and lowercase letters (eg 2. Agriculture), the subsections will be in bold letters preceded by the corresponding number (2.1 Foreign trade), there may be a third level that would be in bold and rounds (2.1.1 Vegetables). In all cases the titles are separated from the previous paragraph and the preceding one.
  • Numbers: from 1 to 9 they will be put in letter, from now on they will be Arabic, separated by a blank space in the case of thousands or millions. Decimal numbers must be separated by a period.
  • Bibliographic citation: they will appear interspersed in quotes in the paragraph if they are less than five lines, from five onwards they will be placed, leaving a space, in a separate paragraph, with a left indentation of 1.25cm., without quotes. In both cases, the author's name, year of publication and page number (s), for example, (Gómez, 1990: 34-36) should be placed in parentheses. If only the author is cited, he must put his first name and in brackets year of publication, Vazquez (1989), if there are several authors in brackets, it will be of the form (Martínez, 2007; Brown, 2001; Ortega, 1997).
  • References: These will be presented in alphabetical order, with Calibri 11 points, with French indentation of 1.25cm:
