Abstract

The objective of the work is to explain the financial behavior of people who do not have a formal savings account. The measurement method is the Multinomial Logistic Model that is applied to data from the 2015 National Financial Inclusion Survey. The application of the model responds to the nature of the response variable that is categorical and does not have an order of importance. The main conclusions are that the variables that characterize people who do not save in the formal financial system are: the level of education, the location, expenditure record, age and sex.
