Evolution of the clothing industry in Yucatan within the framework of global value chains.
Abstract
This article uses the conceptual framework of Global Value Chains for analyzing the evolution of the apparel industry in Yucatan in the last 15 years. Our goal is to show the implications that has been the inclusion of Yucatecan territory in global supply chain of clothing to the United States in the evolution of the local apparel industry and the challenges facing this branch of industry to structural changes global apparel industry.
