Poverty, public policies and social policies in Yucatan, 1995-2007
Abstract
This research herein examines poverty in the context of public policies in Yucatan. Focusing on the progress of institutionalization of poverty and the internal problems that public policies have to face when fighting this issue, it analyzes the actions taken against poverty by two different historic governmental periods and also presents a diagnosis of the economic situation that prevails in our state. This work is to show how the state a responded late to the social and economic problems prevalent here in Yucatan.
