Abstract

This editorial constitutes the introduction to the special issue of the Journal of Economics, Faculty of Economics, Autonomous University of Yucatán, on Gender and Industrial Development. It offers a broad overview of the challenges that women face in participating equitably in the job opportunities created by industrial development. The main contributions of five articles selected to be published in this special issue are presented.
