Estructura y desigualdad del ingreso en la zona maya de Quintana Roo. Un estudio de caso para las comunidades de José María Morelos y Sában Quintana Roo, México 2011
Abstract
Few academic papers delve into studies on the economics of the Mexican state Quintana Roo, and other less from the perspective of the composition of income of its inhabitants. Hence the importance of probing into the poverty experienced by the Maya area and structure of household income thereof. This text is analyzed by quantitative techniques inequality and income structure for two indigenous Mayan communities of Quintana Roo, Mexico, same which prevails, according to data collected in the field, a marked dependence on cash transfers conditional on the location more rural and urbanized wage in the locality. The results are not intended to generalize the economic situation of the indigenous Mayan communities, but to contribute to proper diagnosis to improve and redesign social policies currently implemented in Mexico.
