Towards an agenda of public policies for local development
Abstract
The agenda of public policies for local development is increasingly large and complex, which itself accounts for increasing involvement of governments and local societies in promoting development. The agenda of public policies to local development includes at least the following topics: Social Cohesion Sustainability, Competitiveness, Citizenship and State Building, Social Capital and Social Responsibility; the article refers briefly each of them. Must recognize that development is complex and multidimensional and that is why it is necessary to avoid reductionism, which tend to identify with one or a few of their dimensions. The construction of an effective local development agenda not but can be participatory, otherwise will tend to include only the priorities of the established powers, be they institutional or factual. The broad participation of civil society is essential to ensure the multidimensionality of development goals.
