Disparidades municipales en desarrollo humano en Oaxaca: evidencia desde un enfoque espacial
Abstract
The aim of this paper is to study the spatial dimension of intermunicipal inequalities in Oaxaca, Mexico, by using the techniques of Exploratory Spatial Data Analysis. The global Moran´s I statistic and Local Indicators of Spatial Association (LISA) provides evidence of signifi cant spatial autocorrelation as well as spatial heterogeneity in the municipal distribution of Human Development Index (HDI) from 2000 and 2010. The results suggest that there are spatial patterns defi ned of human development, for example, the presence of a polarization scheme, traducing that municipal clusters of high HDI tend to concentrate the human development opportunities; on the other hand, the municipal clusters of low HDI could be interpreted as spatial traps to remain lagging over the study period.
