Strategic tools in SMEs and their effect on planning and performance: Empirical evidence
Abstract
A variety of tools have been designed to help managers to plan, implement and monitor the strategy. The objective of this research is to ascertain to what extent the tools used and their effect on strategic planning and performance across a sample of 130 manufacturing Small and Medium Enterprises in Hidalgo, México. The results show that SMEs that use these instruments further raise the level of formality of their planning and have superior performance.
